Jay Shine aka Shiney (Joseph Torregano) began rapping since he was in elementary school. Shiney grew up in one of New Orleans toughest neighborhoods in the 7th ward (Lapeyrouse and Dorgenois) streets. In 1999 he was signed to No limit Records which is one of New Orleans major record labels.
In 1999 Jay Shine and Tru Down South joined together to create a rap group called Shine Boyz. Their 1st album was “Give It To Em”. Jay Shine is currently signed with Monsta Muzak Productions. Jay Shine has worked with Mannie Fresh, Mac, Mr Serv On, Currency, Young Mugs, Sess 45, Big Ramp, DJ Black and Mild, DJ Raj Smoove, 6 Shot, J.a.g, Big Chan from Doggy’s Angels and the Monsta Muzak Producers Reem and Joe- Mills and the list continues. Jay Shine has done shows in Atlanta, Houston, New Orleans, Lafayette, Slidell Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama, and New York.
His 1st solo album “King of the Underground” was a major success in Jay Shine’s music career.
But in 2005 Shiney was a victim of Hurricane Katrina. Jay Shine lost everything that he had. During the toughest time of his life Shiney made a vow to keep doing what he loved… and that’s performing.
Shiney continues to shine with his forthcoming album “Get It Right Chere” Songs like 7th Ward Hard Head, Number’s Up, Lost It , Krayola and Sweet Sole` just to name a few have been major hits. He is currently in the studio working on another album “Da Grub”.
Shiney is truly has a place in the rap game. His lyrics and rap style is one of a kind. Shiney has proven that he is unstoppable and will continue to shine. Here is a couple of tracks to get a feel of his low and track presence…New Orleans Stand Up.

Honestly this is a no brainier, Method Man didn’t drop a diss his partner did, baiting him in to respond, and then you will probably hear a wu tang diss jumping on buddens, i like wu tang but inspectah deck believes joey is dissing for attention , but the inspectah deck is not relevant in todays game so him dissing buddens gets him attention not the other way around….ps Rip inspectah deck niggas under estimate joeys ability to rap manye

Ladies I am finally here. Now lets talk.!!! This weekend in the N.O was the Essence Music Festival. Since I didn’t go to the concerts I did the next best….HIT THE CLUB!!. My club of choice was the House of Blues. Thursday was a sponsered party by a NBA player, sorry I don’t remember the name. Anyway it was ok I have a better time on a regular night before. The night started out right. The crowd was mixed, old school and new school. The dj was local, but catered to the out of towners and only played bounce when people started yelling at him by the end of the night. My only gripe of that night was the “snow bunny”. For all of ya’ll who don’t know what I’m talking then its over your head. I don’t understand what it is about our black men who come to a hip hop spot with beautiful black women wall to wall and for some reason they all seem to run towards the only 2 bunnies in the club and not the wannabes, but the clueless type chics. I’m not saying that bunnies can’t like hip hop or black men, but if you ever pay attention when you go out they only really come to the spot when they got “money in the club”. I think when they at home watchin the hills the right light and sirens go off, just like the scene in player’s club. I just want my black men to understand a black women’s prospective. Ya’ll hate when you see a black chick with white boy, but to see a black dude go after a “bunny” in a club is ridiculus. Look at it this way, ask yourself why is the “bunny” in the club anyway….smells like money to me.
