The Sacrifice of the Breakthrough

by Blogmatic on 11/30/2010

During my ride between daily grind tasks, I put on a random unmarked CD in the ride and it turned out to be B.o.B’s “B.o.B vs Bobby Ray” mixtape. If you ain’t heard that yet, shame on you and download it right now. Listening to that and a lot of his other mixtapes when they came out years ago is why I’ve always supported dude. Even with all the singing and experimenting, he got comparisons to 3 Stacks before he even had a record. To be compared to him and even be held in the same regard is a compliment enough, even if it was in jest. I digress. He had real records that any kid from the hood could relate to (“Generation Lost“, “Camera“), club records (“I’ll Be in the Sky“, “Haterz“), and just songs that he just all out spazzed on in his own way (“Lovelier Than You“, “Going Diamond“). I was hype as hell when I found out that he got signed by T.I., but now I just feel like he either got strong armed or lost that initial focus he had.

xxlmagaugust06nased XXL Article: Why Does The Internet Hate Nas?

Why Does the Internet Hate Nas?

There was a time where Nasir Jones was heralded as one of the game’s lyrical prophets, but somewhere along the lines fans’ allegiance shifted

I love the Internet. I hate the Internet. I can’t imagine life without it. I wish it didn’t exist. I know more because of the Internet. I know less because of the Internet. More. More. More. More. At times, it’s too much more for my mind absorb. (Word to Mos Def.) More than anything, it’s here to stay. More after the jump!!

picts gallery 00000017 mdm Shells (What Happened Wednesday Edition)

What ever happened to Shells? I was a fan of his awhile back. The Bronx, NY rapper had the underground on smash. Shells was releasing mixtape after mixtape. He was featured on songs with Cassidy, Grafh, and some other well know rappers. Shells also battle Jin in at Fight Klub. I thought he got the best of Jin in my opinion. Shells inked a deal with Clive Davis’s now defunct label J Records. He was later dropped and never heard from again. What happened!!??

Chris Paul Happy With Winning Hornets

by Rgeezy on 11/24/2010

chrispaul Chris Paul Happy With Winning Hornets

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — When word of Chris Paul’s unhappiness spread over the summer and the NBA world wondered if the once-in-a-lifetime New Orleans point guard would force his way out of the Bayou, his relative silence on the matter only helped the mystery gain momentum.

His most memorable statements only increased the intrigue, as the three-time All-Star told ESPN on June 24 that he was “open to being traded” if the Hornets weren’t committed to winning. At the time, Hornets forward David West didn’t know what to believe. So he did what almost every other curious party didn’t have the ability to do: he called the man himself.
