The Verizon iPhone might not be official yet, but AT&T’s already firing an opening salvo in the war of words. Things are about to get nasty folks.
Speaking to Business Insider, AT&T PR head Larry Solomon couldn’t resist commenting upon the prospect of a Verizon iPhone by saying that he wasn’t “sure iPhone users are ready for life in the slow lane,” while noting that AT&T’s GSM-based network is faster than Verizon’s for 3G speeds.
That’s actually not debatable, but for most users, the speed advantages of AT&T’s 3G network are negligible… and my guess is that many customers would be more than happy to give up a few kb/s downstream if they could trade them for Verizon’s coverage and reliability. What do you guys think?
Looking to up its market share and go head-to-head with the big boys, Motorola dropped three new products at this year’s Consumer Electronic Show. The maker of Verizon’s Droid dropped two new smartphones, the Droid Bionic, and the super-powerful, dual-core-processor-powered Atrix. Then it went ahead and announced its Xoom tablet, which is running Google’s yet-to-be-released Android 3.0 “Honeycomb” software. Do we smell a massacre? Eh, not really, but we’re amped nonetheless.
Reports have the iPhone going to Verizon in early February. [Cult of Mac]

AT&T (T: 28.66 ,+0.34 ,+1.18%) is once again the worst-rated mobile phone carrier in the US, according to an annual survey from influential ratings publication Consumer Reports.
According to the poll of 58,000 Consumer Reports readers, AT&T was the only carrier to drop significantly in overall satisfaction, with iPhone users “much less satisfied” with their carrier and data service compared with smart phones owners from other carriers. [click to enter post]
Phone wars here again, lol I personally like the drama and debating about tech specs and future fitting devices, what yall think about these two Software Operating systems.
