This is a good look. I’ve been waiting on this album for a minute. I think Juelz needs this album more than Wayne does. What ever happened to the long awaited Juelz album to be released on Def Jam? Juelz and Lil Wayne had great chemistry. Hopefully, they can recapture it for the album. The streets want it.
Before the living legend, Mannie Fresh rocked DROM in NYC earlier this month, we were able to get the homie Flip to ask Mannie some questions. Check out the video to hear Fresh talk about being more comfortable DJing than producing right now, not feeling the new generation of music, Lil Wayne’s mainstream success, working on Juvenile’s upcoming album and trying to recapture that “400 Degreez feel”, his introduction to music and more.
Ray J calls the Breakfast Club to discuss what happened in Vegas with Fabolous. Supposedly at the Floyd Mayweather fight Ray J punched Fabolous. But there are rumors stating that Fabolous whopped Ray J ass backstage. Ray J is talking like a gangsta in this interview. There’s two sides to the story. I’m waiting to hear Fab’s side. What’s fablous gonna do now?
Ten-years after its release, Jay-Z’s The Blueprint, is still mentioned amongst the best hip-hop albums of all time. Impacting rappers just as much as fans, the project played a big part in J.Cole’s coming-of-age.
One of my favorite joints on the album was “All I Need” and “Never Change” was classic.
There is only one supergroup with good chemistry both on and off the microphone. Slaughterhouse – Joell Ortiz, Joe Budden, Royce Da 5’9″ and Crooked I – has become an imposing lyrical force in hip-hop through its mixture of underground emcees that deliver raps in the vein of the genre’s illustrious roots. During their second appearance at Rock The Bells – now with a well-received Slaughterhouse debut under their belts and a new home with Shady Records – Slaughterhouse’s lyrical punches were met with great enthusiasm from the Bay Area crowd. From Crooked I’s acapella freestyle, to Budden’s infectious single “Pump It Up,” to the collective’s trademark sound and camaraderie seen in “The One,” the packed audience shows that they have succeeded in cracking the mainstream.
After their performance on the Paid Dues stage, Slaughterhouse sat down with RESPECT. for a quick talk about the significance of appearing at Rock The Bells, balancing commercial aspirations while still staying true to the underground, revealing a Milli Vanilli feature for their second album and more.
