The Brooklyn Nets new logo and colors were revealed. The new logo was designed by Jay-Z, who is part owner of the Brooklyn Nets. A lot of people do not like the colors for the Brooklyn Nets. But I think Jay-Z is very intelligent for going with the vintage black and white. You’ll be able to wear the hats and shirts with just about anything. Also, it reminds you of the Rucker Park uniforms. It gives that streetball appeal to the NBA, while still giving the classic, vintage feel. No team in the NBA ever had black and white uniforms.  The logo doesn’t blow you away, but I’m feeling the black and white selection.  Good move by Jay-Z, MJ should take notes shotout to the Bobcats ha ha.

Slated for a Summer 2012 release, Kweli’s new album,Prisoner of Conscious (Blacksmith/EMI), features appearances from RZA, Busta Rhymes, Curren$y, Kendrick Lamar, Melanie Fiona and more. The video for the album’s lead single, the Oh No-produced “Distractions”, can be seen below.

It’s been a busy year for the Brooklyn MC. As one-half ofIdle Warship, his alternative soul duo with singer-songwriterRes, Kweli released the collaborative album Habits of the Heart last Fall. Rapper 50 Cent is laying claim to former protégé Young Buck’s compositions and recordings, threatening plans to sell those assets in the latter’s bankruptcy.

Attorneys representing 50 Cent and his G-Unit Records say a recent motion to sell Young Buck’s intellectual property in a bid to pay his creditors, which we previously covered, doesn’t disclose the specific assets up for grabs.

That’s a problem for 50 Cent, who signed Young Buck to his label in 2004, who says their still-standing recording agreement covers just about all of the IP. As a result, the rapper behind such hits as “In Da Club” and “Candy Shop” is asking a bankruptcy judge to block the sale until they can work out just what Young Buck is—and isn’t—allowed to sell.

 Twista’s last offering, The Perfect Storm, came out on EMI back in 2010. Now, nearly two full years later, the rap veteran and master of the double-time rhyme is a free agent, looking for a new label home…one that could very well wind up being Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music imprint.

 “It’s very possible,” Twista recently told XXL about the likelihood of him signing to Yeezy’s label. “My main producer, Traxter, is working a lot with [Kanye] lately, so that’s a possibility.”

The Source said Rick Ross will be making some additions to his 12 player basketball roster. He will be adding some injured reserves.

According to their source, Maybach Music Group camp pieces are falling into place. They confirmed Omarion is already part of the roster, and that an offer for Ma$e is on the table: “Yes, I think its safe to say Omarion is MMG. I don’t want to let no cats out the bag but we’ll see what’s good with Ma$e. As far as newest members Omarion and shout out to Ma$e if he wants to get down with this movement then we’ll see what happens.”

Remember I talked about Ma$e and Omarion being in the studio together. I guess they were in the studio showcasing their talent to Ross who has an ever lasting MMG budget over there at Warner Brothers I see.

PC World tested 3G and 4G wireless data transfer speeds–indoors and out–for AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, and Verizon, at multiple locations in 13 major cities. Here’s what they found. 

 It’s been a year since we looked closely at wireless service in the United States, and in the interim that service has changed considerably–mostly in positive ways. The industry is in the midst of another major technology transition, this time moving from a 3G world to a 4G one while trying to grasp the implications, realize the opportunities, and deal with the growing pains. All of this should be good (even fun!) for consumers, and it could lead to a lot of cool, superfast, reasonably priced devices.

In this year’s study, we took snapshot measurements of wireless service in 13 cities–Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle, and Washington, D.C.–across the country to get a real-time view of how the 3G-to-4G transition is progressing, and of which companies are currently delivering on the promised faster speeds.
