Well, as you all know, Floyd Mayweather was victorious against Victor Ortiz last night. It was a very controversial round 4 KO. Floyd was winning the fight by landing more punches cleanly, mostly right hands. Floyd was real sharp and elusive as usual. Victor did land some left hands and some body shots. However, Floyd made him miss a lot, just as I predicted earlier. Victor Ortiz best moments came when he had Floyd against the ropes. Although, he didn’t connect as much as the crowd thought he did.

Today marks the date of the most anticipated fight of the year, Floyd “Money” Mayweather vs Victor “Vicious” Ortiz. The fight will be tonight at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. I have been watching 24/7 for the past couple of weeks and I’m really pumped for this fight. I think this will be a very entertaining fight and it may go the distance.

The New Orleans Hornets could become the first franchise owned and operated by the NBA because of minority owner Gary Chouest’s reluctance to purchase George Shinn’s majority share. Sources indicated Friday night that Chouest does not think he can devote the needed time to run an NBA franchise and operate his private business. With Chouest’s withdrawing his potential offer to purchase the franchise, the NBA is considering buying Shinn’s share before seeking a buyer or a group of investors willing to keep the team in the Crescent City.
Rumor has it that our team may move to Seattle. I say we should get a group of investors together and buy the Hornets. What y’all think?

Times Picayune – NBA Nearing New Orleans Takeover

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — When word of Chris Paul’s unhappiness spread over the summer and the NBA world wondered if the once-in-a-lifetime New Orleans point guard would force his way out of the Bayou, his relative silence on the matter only helped the mystery gain momentum.
His most memorable statements only increased the intrigue, as the three-time All-Star told ESPN on June 24 that he was “open to being traded” if the Hornets weren’t committed to winning. At the time, Hornets forward David West didn’t know what to believe. So he did what almost every other curious party didn’t have the ability to do: he called the man himself. You may have noticed that one of the best rookies thus far this season has been John Wall down in DC. He’s leading the entire League in steals, he’s fourth in assists (well, he was earlier today), and he’s generally playing about as awesomely as we at SLAM suspected that he would. It doesn’t get better than Paul or Williams at the point in today’s NBA.
The only thing ESPN’s Ric Bucher and Chris Broussard like to do more than report on the NBA is argue about the NBA. So we decided to combine those two skills for Insider’s weekly One-on-One series, in which they’ll debate the hottest topics in the association.

When I see John Wall at the Bulls-Wiz preseason game and I can tell people “back in the day” stories), I don’t feel like I’m behind the curve.
